Now, previously

I keep the old versions of the now page rather than overwriting them, because a now page that is never wrong is a now page nobody is keeping. Here they are, newest first. The dates are when each one stopped being true.

Until 2026-10-02

Finishing a note on the shelf server's wakeups and about to start the Riga acceptance job. This version had, embarrassingly, still claimed for eight months that I was learning to solder - a thing I had in fact given up by the previous spring. That is the whole reason this archive exists.

Until 2026-02-10

Between paid jobs, writing the counter note and reorganising the bench. Free from March, looking for one job of three or four weeks. On the bench: a second attempt at a general measurement script, which later died of being too general, same as the first. Outside: twenty-two loaves in and finally weighing the water.

Until 2025-05-03

In the middle of a four-week power job for a hosting company's spare rack, the one that turned into the material for the governor note. Learning to solder, badly, for the honest reason that I wanted to open the inline meter and see what was in it. Not taking work before July.

Until 2024-01-15

First full year on my own, and it showed: too many small jobs, each a week, each spending its one useful day on learning the fleet and the rest on invoicing I had not yet learned to do quickly. This is the version that decided the two-week minimum, which I have held to since.

Until 2023-04-20

Three weeks self-employed and mostly terrified. One job booked, a telecom contact who took a chance on me. The now page at this point was four lines and two of them were about where to find a decent coffee in Tartu, which tells you how much work I had.

If a version here contradicts something on a note, the note wins - it has dates on the measurements and this page has only my memory. Back to now.
